The file system offers a new way to organize your disk. Its main purpose is to indicate how the stored data in us The amount of time available on disk, and the types of information attached to files, such as filenames, permissions, and other attributes. Windows backs up three different file systems, namely FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS. Moving these filesystems was as follows:

  • 8-bit FAT (original 8-bit FAT)
  • FAT12 (8-bit file allocation table)
  • FAT16 (original 16-bit file allocation table (with 16-bit sector (end records))
  • FAT16B 16-bit file allocation table (with 32-bit spherical records)
  • FAT32 (File Allocation Table-32)
  • exFAT (Extensible File Allocation Table)
  • NTFS (New Technology File System)

FAT32 and NTFS are the types of file systems used in the learning system.

    1. FAT32:
FAT32 stands for File Allocation Table. FAT32 is a pre-file system format and data is stored in 32-bit chunks. FAT32 is an updated version of FAT16 designed to bypass the limitations of FAT16 and add support for larger media. FAT32 was used in older versions in combination with these operating systemsami, like Windows 95 and Windows XP.

  • FAT32 works well with 200MB partitions.
  • FAT32 provides compatibility with various operating systems.
  • FAT32 is quite often used as a primary partition compared to multi-boot systems.
  • FAT32-formatted body partitions larger than 200MB may impact performance.
  • FAT32 is insecure, partly because it lacks encryption.
  • FAT32 is prone to fragmentation.
  • 2. NTFS:
NTFS stands for New Technology File System. First introduced in 1993, it is used in newer versions of operating systems such as Windows NT and 2000 as well as newer versions of Windows. Is ntfs the most reliable and powerful log file mechanism with multi-user access control, ACLs and many other things that make it suitable for running a secure operating system. Includes NTFS features such as data recovery, multithreading, fault tolerance, security, extended file degrees and file systems, UNICODE names. exFAT is usually used when NTFS is definedCertainly not possible due to the above data structure, but definitely requires a larger file size limit than the standard FAT32 file system.

  • The NTFS file system provides a high level of security, as the program prevents unauthorized access to file data by using the Encrypting File System (EFS).
  • NTFS works well even with partitions larger than 400MB.
  • NTFS is very prone to fragmentation.
  • NTFS is not widely supported.
  • NTFS file console performance degrades when partition size is less than 400MB.
  • Properties FAT32 NTFS
